Matt has over 30 years of experience in the financial planning and investment fields. Starting out straight from university, he worked for a number of major financial planning and investment firms before starting his own innovative computer based/online company which facilitated client investment education and facilitated do it yourself investing.

For family reasons, Matt moved back to home town Gisborne, where he became a shareholder and investment adviser for a local Financial Services company.  Recently, wanting to focus more time with his clients, Matt sold his interests in the company and purchased back the investment clients to form Gisborne Investment Services Ltd. To strengthen Gisborne Investment Services Ltd capabilities, he has joined the Milestone Group as a connected Member to gain the benefits of being part of a nationwide group of financial professionals who are focused on providing positive financial outcomes for their clients.

Matt is married to Helena and together they have 6 children, who are either at university or in the early stages of their careers, but still find ways to keep them busy. Matt’s interests include football, which he still plays, as well as coaching and administering Junior Football in Gisborne. Matt also enjoys hunting, although nowadays this is more to exercise his two wirehair pointer dogs Spaz and Ruger.
